-- The third ASEAN Future Forum themed ‘Shaping Our Future Together: Peace, Prosperity and People-Centered’ wrapped up in Hanoi on Wednesday after two days of discussions, drawing a record turnout of more than 1,200 domestic and international participants.

-- At a reception held by General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam Central Committee and State President To Lam in Hanoi on Wednesday, Prime Minister of Timor-Leste Kay Rala Xanana Gusmão expressed his hope that the two countries would soon convene the first meeting of their Joint Commission for Bilateral Cooperation to discuss concrete plans and cooperation projects, including areas where Vietnam can support Timor-Leste to enhance economic self-reliance, develop private sector, improve institutions, and upgrade infrastructure.

-- Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of National Defense General Phan Van Giang on Wednesday received U.S. Deputy Secretary of State Christopher Landau, proposing the U.S. increase the sharing of information, documents and belongings related to Vietnamese soldiers during the war, and support Vietnam in enhancing its capacity for DNA analysis of remains.

-- Investigators at the Department of Public Security of Thanh Hoa Province, north-central Vietnam have charged 15 suspects with allegedly smuggling and infringing industrial property rights.

Ho Chi Minh City

-- Doctors at Children’s Hospital 2 in Ho Chi Minh City have successfully rescued a 10-year-old boy who suffered repeated episodes of prolonged cardiac arrest totaling nearly two hours.

-- The municipal People’s Committee has issued a plan to protect and support children’s development in the online environment for the 2026-30 period, focusing on preventing harmful content, assisting child victims of online abuse, and enhancing digital skills.

-- Police in the southern metropolis have coordinated with relevant agencies to receive 33 Vietnamese citizens deported from the United States at Noi Bai International Airport in Hanoi.

Economy

-- Vietnam’s electric vehicle maker VinFast on Wednesday inaugurated 66 electric motorcycle dealerships across 22 provinces and cities, bringing its total number of authorized sales outlets to nearly 750 nationwide.
