-- A house under repair collapsed in Binh Khe Ward in Quang Ninh Province, northern Vietnam on Sunday, leaving one person dead and two injured after three people were buried, local authorities said.
-- Hail and strong winds accompanied by thunderstorms caused damage to property and crops across multiple localities in Nghe An Province, north-central Vietnam on Sunday afternoon.
-- A man in Nghe An Province died on Sunday after collapsing while playing football in an apparent stroke, a local official in Quang Chau Commune said, adding he was taken for emergency treatment but did not survive.
-- Vietnam’s traffic police said on Sunday that 177 road accidents nationwide during the April 30–May 3 holiday killed 95 people and injured 114, down 72 crashes, 35 deaths, and 65 injuries from a year earlier. Authorities handled 53,916 violations, impounded 277 cars, 13,033 motorbikes and 1,048 other vehicles, revoked 1,479 driver’s licenses, and deducted points in 7,951 cases.
-- Vietnam’s Ministry of Health said on Sunday that medical facilities nationwide examined and provided emergency care to more than 316,800 patients during the April 30–May 3 holiday period.

-- Syphilis infections in Ho Chi Minh City nearly doubled to 9,511 cases in 2025 from 4,899 cases in 2020, according to official data.
-- Ho Chi Minh City attracted 1.69 million visitors and generated VND8.7 trillion (US$330 million) in revenue during a nine-day holiday from April 25 to Sunday, driven by linked urban, coastal and eco-tourism offerings and diverse experiences, the city’s tourism department said.
