-- The peak flood level in the upstream area of the Mekong Delta in Dong Thap Province is forecast to occur in early October, coinciding with the high tide from October 8 to 10, and expected to rise 0.1 to 0.3 meters higher than in 2024.

-- The investor of a VND1.1 trillion (US$41.7 million) urban renovation project along Thuy Van Road on Bai Sau Beach in Ho Chi Minh City, which is nearing completion, has struggled to prevent residents and tourists from trampling the lawns and driving vehicles that have damaged newly-paved walkways.
-- Ho Chi Minh City is sinking at an average rate of two to five centimeters per year, according to a study presented at a conference hosted by the University of Natural Resources and Environment in late August. Areas with weak soil foundations and dense commercial developments are subsiding at faster rates, reaching up to seven to eight centimeters annually. The hardest-hit areas are the Saigon River bank, from the Saigon Bridge to Ba Son Bridge, and in the southern parts of the city.
