The incident occurred on bus route 85, operated by Phuong Trang Futabuslines Passenger Car Co., also known as FUTA Bus Lines, according to the Public Passenger Transport Management Center under the municipal Department of Construction.
The bus, with license plate number 50E-208.91, was traveling on Nguyen Van Bua Street when the driver, identified as C.M.T., born in 1984, collapsed at the wheel after suffering a stroke.
An attendant on board turned off the ignition and contacted emergency services.
The driver was taken to hospital, where he later died.
The bus made minor contact with a road divider during the incident.
No passengers or other road users were injured.
Traffic authorities and the operating company secured the scene and cleared the vehicle in accordance with regulations.
