The upcoming military parade is aimed at marking the 80th anniversary of Vietnam's August Revolution and National Day on September 2.

Large crowds began gathering around noon along key streets such as Hung Vuong, Nguyen Thai Hoc, and Le Hong Phong.

The atmosphere in Hanoi was festive and patriotic.

In the cool autumn air, streets were adorned with Vietnamese national flags and flowers, reflecting the nation’s pride.

Many families came prepared with folding chairs, snacks, and drinks, while some even brought mats and blankets to sit on.

Excitement was palpable among both adults and children.

At 2:30 pm, major streets including Phan Dinh Phung and Thanh Nien were lined with spectators seated along both sides.

Among them was Tran Thuy Dung, 33, who had brought her children to Phan Dinh Phung Street at 11:00 am to secure a good viewing spot.

“This is probably a once-in-a-lifetime experience. I rearranged all my work so we could be here. My kids are thrilled, and we’re planning to stay until the very end,” she said.

In front of Quan Ngua Stadium, large crowds also gathered, waving flags and cheering each time a convoy of soldiers passed by.

A group of young people shared that they chose this spot specifically to interact with the officers and soldiers after the rehearsal.

“In the past, people our age idolized celebrities. Now, we admire the soldiers,” one member of the group shared, smiling and waving at passing military vehicles.

Others, like mother and daughter Vu Hoang Yen and Nguyen Thi May, had traveled from Van Quan Ward and intended to stay late into the night.

May said that one of her family members would join the parade, so it is a source of great pride.

Inside Bach Thao Park, forces from the Ministry of Public Security gathered early in the afternoon to prepare.

Residents from surrounding areas brought refreshments and offered words of encouragement to the soldiers.

They displayed both eagerness and pride ahead of the first full-scale rehearsal of the military parade at historic Ba Dinh Square.

Medical teams were also stationed throughout the area to respond to any emergencies, ensuring the safety of the attendees.

Traffic control was a top priority throughout the day.

According to the traffic police division, traffic was rerouted from 11:30 am.

Police officers, military personnel, and local security forces coordinated efforts to guide vehicles and ensure smooth circulation.

The city announced full vehicle bans on certain routes during the rehearsal hours.

Residents were advised to avoid using personal vehicles and instead rely on public transport such as buses, trains, and the metro to reduce congestion risks.

Traffic officers emphasized the need to follow parking instructions strictly and avoid stopping or parking in unauthorized areas, particularly on roadbeds and sidewalks.
