Dutch consul general visits Tuoi Tre, seeks stronger Vietnam cooperation

Raissa Marteaux, Consul General of the Netherlands, visited Tuoi Tre (Youth) newspaper on Thursday and discussed expanding cooperation between the Netherlands and Vietnam, while expressing interest in strengthening connections with Vietnamese youth.

During a meeting in Ho Chi Minh City with Editor-in-Chief Le The Chu, Marteaux outlined Dutch priorities and said the Netherlands is looking to expand cooperation with Vietnam in areas such as logistics, seaports, high technology, semiconductors, agriculture, and climate change response.

Chu said the Netherlands enjoys a positive image in Vietnam and that bilateral ties have improved in recent years.

“Tuoi Tre has focused on youth-oriented initiatives, including university entry and career guidance events that have drawn tens of thousands of students,” he added.

Marteaux said she wanted to hear more from young Vietnamese and encouraged students to learn foreign languages, gain international experience, and be proactive.

She noted that the Netherlands offers study opportunities for Vietnamese students.

During the visit, she toured the newsroom and met students from Nguyen Tat Thanh University and Van Lang University who were studying at the newsroom.
