As part of her visit to Russia, she sat in on the opening ceremony of the exhibition, which features the creative works of 15 Vietnamese–Russian teacher-student pairs.
She is currently in Russia at the invitation of the Russian government and the administration of Saint Petersburg to participate in cultural diplomacy activities marking the 75th anniversary of diplomatic ties between Vietnam and Russia.
She arrived in Moscow on Tuesday.
Addressing the event, she expressed deep emotion as she viewed the artworks created by multiple generations of Vietnamese and Russian artists.
“The exhibition is not just an artistic gathering, but also a vivid symbol of the bond that unites artists from Vietnam and Russia,” she said.
The display holds special meaning as it coincides with the 75th anniversary of diplomatic ties between Vietnam and Russia.

Ly shared that the exhibition is especially poignant as among the featured works are those by her late father, People's Artist Ngo Manh Lan, and his mentor, Professor Ivan Petrovich Ivanov-Vano.
The two shared a formative teacher-student relationship during his time at the Gerasimov Institute of Cinematography in the 1960s.
Highlighting the teacher-student bond as a cultural cornerstone in both Vietnamese and Russian traditions, the spouse of the Party chief thanked the former Soviet Union and modern-day Russia for nurturing generations of Vietnamese talent, particularly in the arts.
She strongly believed that initiatives like the exhibition would further deepen the cultural and artistic cooperation between the two nations, enriching the long-standing and multifaceted Vietnam–Russia friendship.

At the event, she presented the painting ‘Nang Dong’ (Winter Sunlight) by painter Vu Thai Binh to the Russian Academy of Arts, and witnessed the conferment of the academy’s honorary foreign membership to Vietnamese sculptor Dao Chau Hai.
In recognition of her contributions to cultural exchange and artistic cooperation between Vietnam and Russia, the academy awarded Ly the prestigious Gold Medal of Honor, Dostoinomu.
“To me, art knows no borders. Music, painting, are literature are bridges of peace, connecting the souls of nations,” she stated.
“I am honored to share this recognition with all those devoted to fostering Vietnam–Russia friendship."
