Foreign couple captivated by Vietnam’s National Day parade rehearsal

As the rehearsal for Vietnam’s 80th National Day (September 2) parade wrapped up on Saturday morning, 48-year-old Elad Fein and Keren Sereno Fein, 43, an Israeli couple, seized the opportunity to capture a special moment in the heart of Hanoi.

The couple, seasoned travelers to Vietnam, had arrived just in time for the grand rehearsal celebrating the country's independence, marking their first time witnessing such a spectacle in person.

Keren, visibly excited as she snapped photos in front of the historic Trang Tien area where the parade took place, shared that although it wasn't their first visit to Vietnam, being there during the National Day celebration was an experience unlike any other.

Their visit coincided perfectly with the parade's rehearsal, giving them the chance to experience something they had never seen before — the proud march of Vietnam's soldiers.

The couple had read about the National Day events online and decided to arrive at Trang Tien at 7:00 am, eager to witness the historic march.

Although they felt slightly disappointed by their less-than-ideal viewing spot, their enthusiasm remained undimmed.

Keren expressed her happiness for Vietnam, describing the celebration as majestic.

She noted that people were dressed in red, holding flags, and their faces were shining with joy.

What struck them most about the event, however, was not only the impressive scale of the parade but also the palpable emotional connection between the Vietnamese people and their country's military.

Elad observed that the crowd cheered and shouted as the soldiers passed by.

He was moved by the display of affection, adding that it felt as though the crowd wanted to embrace them.

He mentioned he might return on the actual National Day, September 2, to experience it again.

From their perspective as international visitors, the couple felt the parade was more than just a military display. It was a unique opportunity for the world to understand the history and national spirit of Vietnam.

Keren, speaking with emotion, expressed their deep affection for the Vietnamese people.

She admired the spirit of the country and shared how inspired she felt by the people, noting how Vietnam had overcome significant hardship and emerged stronger.

She also remarked on the constant smiles and hard work of the people.
