The municipal traffic police division on Wednesday announced plans to block access to several roads during the four-day celebrations.

Full road closures will occur during specific time slots: 4:00 am-8:00 am on Thursday; 7:00 am-12:00 pm on Friday; 6:30 am-12:00 pm on Saturday and Sunday.

Parts or all the sections of the following roads will be completely closed during the above time slots, including Dinh Tien Hoang, Le Lai, Le Thach, Dinh Le, Nguyen Xi, Trang Tien, Ngo Quyen, Ly Thai To, Hang Khay, Le Thai To, Hang Dau, and Lo Su.

Other restricted areas and streets include Dong Kinh Nghia Thuc Square, Tran Nguyen Han, Luong Van Can, Bao Khanh, Hang Bai, Ba Trieu, and the area around the State Bank of Vietnam.

During these periods, trucks with a capacity of 500kg or more and passenger vehicles with 16 seats or more (excluding buses, garbage trucks, emergency vehicles, and those with protective permits) will also be banned.

Personal cars and motorbikes will be restricted on Ngo Quyen, Ly Thai To, Tran Nguyen Han, Nguyen Huu Huan, Ba Trieu, Hang Bai, Ly Thuong Kiet, Tran Hung Dao, Hai Ba Trung, Le Thanh Tong, Phan Chu Trinh, Tran Quang Khai, Tran Khanh Du, Pho Hue, Hang Bong, Hang Gai, Hang Trong, Nha Tho, Nha Chung, and Quang Trung Streets.

To ease the impact on commuters, the municipal police department has suggested alternative routes.

For those traveling from eastern and northeastern wards, communes such as Gia Lam, Long Bien, Phuc Loi, Viet Hung to western and northwestern ones like Hai Ba Trung, Dong Da, Tu Liem, O Dien, vehicles should take the Nhat Tan, Long Bien, Vinh Tuy, or Thanh Tri Bridges, then follow De 401, Tran Nhat Duat, Yen Phu, Thanh Nien, Vo Chi Cong Streets, or Ring Roads No. 2 and No. 3.

Drivers heading from northern wards, communes including Tay Ho, Dong Anh to southern ones like Hoang Mai and Thanh Tri should use the Nhat Tan or Thang Long Bridges and continue along Vo Chi Cong, Pham Van Dong, Pham Hung Streets, and major ring roads.

Authorities are urging drivers and residents to strictly follow traffic laws and the directions of law enforcement during the commemorative events.
