The tropical convergence zone associated with the depression, combined with strengthened southwest monsoon winds, is expected to bring moderate to heavy rainfall across the region, according to the southern weather center.

During the National Day break from August 30 to September 2, Ho Chi Minh City could see total rainfall of 100-140 millimeters, with some areas likely to exceed 140 millimeters.

Localized flooding may occur in low-lying zones, riverbanks, and areas with inadequate drainage systems.

Maritime conditions are also forecast to worsen, with strong winds and sea waves reaching up to 3.5 meters in height.

Vessels operating offshore are urged to exercise caution, particularly during thunderstorms, due to high waves and rough seas.

Other southern maritime areas, including the coastal waters from Lam Dong to Ca Mau Provinces and the southwestern part of the East Vietnam Sea, are expected to face strong southwest winds and unstable conditions as well.
