From Thursday night through Saturday, the city will see scattered moderate to heavy showers and thunderstorms, with rainfall totals expected to reach between 30 and 70 millimeters. In some areas, the precipitation could surpass 70 millimeters.

The stormy spell is projected to intensify over the weekend and into next week.

By Tuesday, the accumulated rainfall in the city could range from 100 to 200 millimeters, with some locations potentially exceeding that mark.

Elsewhere in southern Vietnam, the rain is expected to be equally persistent.

Between Thursday and Saturday, provinces across the region could receive 40 to 80 millimeters of rain, with localized totals climbing beyond 80.

By the end of the rainy period, totals in many parts of the region may reach 100 to 250 millimeters—or more under extreme conditions.

The rain has already begun in several areas.

Between 7:00 pm on Wednesday and 7:00 pm on Thursday, heavy downpours were recorded across the south, including 112 millimeters in My Tho City (Tien Giang Province), 99.6 millimeters in Long Thanh District (Dong Nai Province), 81.8 millimeters in Bu Dop District (Binh Phuoc Province), and 80.4 millimeters in Chau Thanh District (Ben Tre Province).

In Ho Chi Minh City, Binh Chanh District received 41.4 millimeters, while Pham Van Coi Commune in Cu Chi District logged 35.2 millimeters.

Authorities are advising residents to stay alert for flooding in low-lying areas and near rivers, particularly as rainfall accumulates over the next several days.
