In its latest forecast, the center said the southwest monsoon will dominate the city’s weather this month, maintaining moderate strength in the first week and strengthening to moderate-to-strong levels in mid- and late July.

During the first week of the month, scattered showers and thunderstorms are expected, with some areas seeing moderate to heavy rain.

These could mainly occur from noon to the early evening and may gradually decrease toward the weekend.

In the middle of the month, the weather will remain rainy with widespread showers and thunderstorms, especially in the afternoons and evenings, plus some locations may see heavy downpours.

The final week is likely to follow a similar pattern, with rain occurring sporadically throughout the day but more concentrated during midday to evening hours.

The average temperature in July is expected to drop compared to June.

Rainfall will be near or above the multi-year average for the month, with the heaviest rainfall likely during the second and third weeks.

The regional weather agency warned of potential dangers from thunderstorms, lightning, hail, and strong winds, which could pose risks to personal safety, damage property, and disrupt daily activities.

Widespread heavy rain may lead to flooding in urban areas.

The agency also highlighted a strong possibility of tropical storms or depressions forming in the East Vietnam Sea, which could trigger dangerous conditions at sea and widespread rainfall on land.

Operators of vessels should remain cautious due to the likelihood of rough seas, high waves, and strong winds.
