The Southern Hydro-Meteorological Station reported that scattered moderate to heavy rains will occur across the region between Monday and Tuesday, with southeastern localities, including Ho Chi Minh City, likely to experience more intense rainfall than southwestern ones.
Showers will mainly fall in the afternoon and evening, though light rains may pass through the Mekong Delta in the morning and midday.
Temperatures are forecast to range between 29 and 33 degrees Celsius.
By Wednesday, rains will possibly continue but heavy downpours are expected to decrease.
The regional weather agency warned of possible thunderstorms accompanied by whirlwinds, lightning, and strong gusts.
Commuters should be prepared for heavy showers during rush hours and carry rain gear when heading outdoors.
The National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting said that the Central Highlands and southern Vietnam will experience showers and thunderstorms this afternoon, with rainfall between 15-30 mm and some areas receiving more than 60 mm.
