Ho Chi Minh City meets young leaders from Vietnam, Laos and Cambodia

The meeting was held in Ho Chi Minh City as part of the fourth training program for young leaders of the Communist Party of Vietnam, Lao People's Revolutionary Party, and Cambodian People's Party, with 50 young officials from central and local agencies across the three countries taking part.

Ho Chi Minh City willing to share experience with young leaders

In her welcoming remarks, Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee Deputy Secretary Van Thi Bach Tuyet described the program as a meaningful and practical initiative that allows participants to learn about Vietnam's policies, development strategies and experience.

It also gives the future leaders of the three countries an opportunity to exchange views, share experience and deepen mutual understanding.

The deputy secretary said Ho Chi Minh City is willing to share its knowledge, expertise and practical experience in socio-economic development and sustainable growth, as well as support Laos and Cambodia in training and developing the capacity of their officials

The city is continuing to reform administrative procedures in tandem with digital transformation and improve the quality of its officials and civil servants, particularly their capacity to carry out tasks at the grassroots level.

At the same time, the city recognizes significant pressure to meet its 2026 growth target.

Challenges remain in urban planning, public investment disbursement and operating the government across its expanded administrative area.

The city also plans to improve its investment and business environment, make breakthroughs in infrastructure, promote science, technology and innovation, streamline its administrative apparatus and ensure balanced economic and social development

Building understanding through dialogue

At the meeting, participants in the training program raised questions and exchanged views with representatives from Ho Chi Minh City's departments and agencies.

Much of the discussion focused on official training and development, digital transformation in public administration, and measures to attract investment capital to the city.

Associate Professor Dr. Nguyen Manh Hung, deputy director of the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics, speaking on behalf of the delegation, expressed interest in learning more about the development of Ho Chi Minh City, a major economic, political, cultural, social and industrial center that also plays an important role in the country's foreign relations and international integration.

The delegates hoped to learn from the city's successful models and practices and adapt them to local conditions, contributing to development and stronger cooperation among the three countries.

In the closing remarks, Van Thi Bach Tuyet said the practical insights and experiences shared by delegates from central and local agencies across Vietnam, Laos and Cambodia were valuable contributions to Ho Chi Minh City.

She said the direct and candid exchanges not only helped the participants better understand one another but also created opportunities to learn from each other's experiences and find approaches suited to the circumstances of each country and locality.
