Ho Chi Minh City motorbike food tour named among world’s best

A motorbike food tour in Ho Chi Minh City has been ranked as one of the top food experiences on the planet, as per Tripadvisor's 2026 Travelers' Choice Best of the Best Awards.

The Top Notch Street Food Motorbike Tour, run by local operator Saigon Vibes, was named the number-one food tour in Vietnam and placed 16th out of every food tour in the world.

The motorbike food tour holds a 5.0 out of 5 rating from more than 3,100 traveler reviews.

Fewer than one percent of Tripadvisor's eight million listings worldwide reach this level. That puts Saigon Vibes' motorbike food tour in the same company as celebrated food experiences in Reykjavik, Lisbon, Rome, and Osaka.

The tour takes travelers by motorbike into small alleys of Ho Chi Minh City, home to long-standing local eateries and street food vendors serving dishes distinctive to southern Vietnam that visitors would struggle to find on their own.

Groups are kept small, so each guest can eat while hearing the story behind every dish along the way.

It has been a strong year for Saigon Vibes overall.

The company's Super Niche tour also won a Tripadvisor Best of the Best title in 2026, and Saigon Vibes has been nominated for World's Best Culinary Tour Operator at the World Culinary Awards.

Behind the awards is a young, homegrown team of local guides, whose efforts to share Ho Chi Minh City's food culture with international travelers have helped carry Vietnamese hospitality onto the world stage.

The motorbike food tour also runs in the evening, giving it a role in Ho Chi Minh City's push to grow nighttime tourism.

Tony Hung Tran, director of inbound tourism at Golden Smile Travel, has said the city's challenge is turning its after-dark offerings into experiences international visitors are willing to pay for, rather than simply "taking visitors to dinner and then for a walk."

Vietnam's tourism sector overall is working toward a national target, set under Politburo Resolution 26-NQ/TW, of having tourism contribute 10-12% of GDP by 2030.

Vietnamese cuisine's rising global profile

The recognition comes as Vietnamese food, and Ho Chi Minh City's food scene in particular, continues to gain ground internationally.

According to the World Food Travel Association, about 81 percent of travelers want to explore local cuisine on their trips, and are willing to put 25-35 percent of their travel budget toward food experiences.

Nguyen Thi Hoa Mai, deputy director of the Vietnam National Authority of Tourism, has said the authority is advising the government on a project to promote Vietnamese cuisine abroad from 2026 to 2030, with the aim of making food a core pillar of the country's tourism brand.

In June, Time Out ranked Ho Chi Minh City sixth on its list of the world's best food cities, based on a survey of more than 24,000 people across 150 cities worldwide.

Against that backdrop, the success of this Ho Chi Minh City motorbike food tour adds another data point to a broader trend: Vietnamese food is increasingly recognized by international travelers and global publications alike as one of the country's strongest draws.
