The suspect, identified as Nguyen Trieu T., was taken in for questioning, according to Phap Luat Thanh Pho Ho Chi Minh newspaper, after a video circulated online showing a man wearing a ride-hailing uniform grabbing a bundle of tickets from a vendor and fleeing on a motorbike.

The incident occurred on Sunday evening in Tang Nhon Phu Ward, formerly part of old Thu Duc City, before a recent administrative reorganization.

The victim, 44-year-old Quach Van N., who has a physical disability, was unable to pursue the suspect, according to police.

Authorities said the vendor did not report the case, but a family member shared the footage on social media.

Police identified the suspect through surveillance and local tip-offs.

Officers found T. in possession of a stack of lottery tickets.

He later admitted to taking them, police said.

The investigation is ongoing.
