The operation took place on January 7 and 8, during a citywide campaign by Ho Chi Minh City police to crack down on crime and ensure security and social order ahead of the 2026 Lunar New Year holiday, which will begin in mid-February.
Among the suspects, police discovered one South Korean national subject to an international arrest warrant, Cong An TP.HCM (Ho Chi Minh City Public Security) newspaper reported.
The city police emphasized their determination not to allow foreign nationals to exploit business or tourism purposes as a cover for criminal activities.
The force reaffirmed its commitment to achieving the goal of building a drug-free city by 2030.
