The Khanh Hoa public security department’s immigration unit carried out the deportation of Omokeev Ulukbek, 47, who had been wanted by Interpol since 2021 for allegedly participating in the purchase and transport of large quantities of narcotics to Germany, police said in a statement.

Ulukbek was discovered in June living in an apartment in Bac Nha Trang Ward.

He had entered Vietnam on an electronic visa, using what police described as false information to gain entry.

He was fined for providing inaccurate immigration information and ordered to be deported, police said, adding that the process was completed safely and in accordance with Vietnamese law.
