Ho Chi Minh City to display fireworks at 4 sites for National Day celebrations

Vo Ho Hoang Vu, chief of the office at the municipal Department of Culture and Sports, said that three of the selected sites will feature high-altitude fireworks, including the entrance to Saigon River Tunnel in An Khanh Ward, the central area of the new city in Binh Duong Ward, and the central square at Bai Sau Beach in Vung Tau Ward.

The fourth location at Dam Sen Cultural Park, located in Binh Thoi Ward, will host a low-altitude fireworks show.

All displays are scheduled to begin at 9:00 pm and last for 15 minutes.

The event will be organized by the municipal Department of Culture and Sports in coordination with the Ho Chi Minh City Command and other related units.

As part of the broader celebration, an exhibition is being held until September 5, along Nguyen Hue Pedestrian Street, Dong Khoi Street, and at No. 1 Ba Cu Street in Vung Tau Ward.

In addition, special cultural and artistic performances will take place at 7:30 pm on the day of the fireworks, held at three venues: Nguyen Hue Pedestrian Street in Saigon Ward, the outdoor stage in the central park of the new city in Binh Duong Ward, and Thuy Van Square in Vung Tau Ward.

As per the government’s Decree 137/2020, centrally-governed cities like Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City are permitted to host both high and low-altitude fireworks during national holidays such as Lunar New Year’s Eve and National Day.

Other provinces may only host low-altitude displays, with a maximum duration of 15 minutes.

Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City are allowed to set off fireworks on Reunification Day (April 30), while other provinces may do so on special occasions.
