All passengers traveling on city and interprovincial bus routes connected to Ho Chi Minh City will enjoy free service, according to the department’s Public Transportation Management Center.

The waiver also applies to oversized baggage that would normally incur additional fees.

Passengers will still receive tickets and full service rights as usual.

“This initiative reflects our deep patriotism and pride, while making it easier for citizens to join in commemorating this historic occasion,” a center representative said.

Transport operators have been instructed to maintain approved service schedules, properly issue tickets, and absolutely refrain from collecting any fares, including baggage fees, on April 30.

Drivers and staff must strictly comply with these regulations.

Residents are encouraged to download the MultiGO app for route and schedule details or report any issues via hotline 1022 (press 9) or the website buyttphcm.com.vn.

Authorities have also announced road closures across central districts for various commemorative events, with limited vehicle access and reduced parking availability.

Residents are encouraged to use public transportation, including metro and buses, to ease congestion.

Additional police units will be deployed to monitor and manage traffic in affected zones.

Streets within the restricted area include Le Duan, Nguyen Van Chiem, Le Quy Don, Huyen Tran Cong Chua, Le Van Huu, Han Thuyen, Alexandre De Rhodes, Cong Xa Paris, Dang Tran Con, Thu Khoa Huan, Nguyen Trung Truc, Dong Khoi, and surrounding areas.

To mark the 50th anniversary of the liberation of southern Vietnam and Reunification Day on April 30, a series of events will be organized in Ho Chi Minh City, including a grand military parade, a drone light show, fireworks displays, street festivities, and others.
