According to a plan announced by the Ho Chi Minh City People’s Committee, the fireworks shows will take place from midnight to 0:15 am on January 1.

Three high-altitude fireworks displays will be staged at the entrance area of the Saigon River Tunnel in An Khanh Ward–opposite Bach Dang Wharf and Nguyen Hue Pedestrian Street, the central area of the New City in Binh Duong Ward, and Tam Thang Square in Vung Tau Ward.

In addition, a low-altitude fireworks show will be held at Dam Sen Cultural Park in Binh Thoi Ward.

All funding for the fireworks was mobilized through contributions from individuals, organizations and firms, ensuring both scale and quality.

Beyond the fireworks, the city has planned a wide range of cultural and artistic activities to mark the arrival of the New Year.

A highlight will be the Countdown program on Nguyen Hue Pedestrian Street on Wednesday night, expected to draw large crowds.

At Tam Thang Square in Vung Tau Ward, the event titled ‘Awakening the Waves at Dawn 2025’ was set to run throughout Wednesday, featuring a sunrise run, mass yoga performances, and a night arts program.

Tonight, various outdoor art performances will also take place at the park in front of the administrative center of the former Binh Duong Province, as well as in many wards and communes, including Dau Tieng, Xuan Son, Binh Khanh, Go Vap, and Phu Thanh.

Key landmarks such as the Ho Chi Minh City People’s Committee headquarters, the Municipal Theater, the Ho Chi Minh City branch of the Ho Chi Minh Museum, the Fine Arts Museum, and the Saigon Central Post Office will be illuminated with decorative lighting.

Major streets across the city will also be adorned with artistic light installations, adding to the festive atmosphere.

The municipal Department of Culture and Sports was appointed as the standing body of the organizing committee for major celebrations, so it is in charge of inspections and coordination.

Relevant agencies have been tasked with ensuring public security, fire safety and traffic management, deploying personnel at event venues and promptly handling any arising situations to ensure a safe and joyful New Year celebration for residents and visitors alike.
