All pedestrian and vehicle access to the rehearsal zones are restricted during the rehearsals, except for authorized personnel and vehicles with proper identification or permits related to public security duties.
According to the municipal traffic police, on the evenings of April 18 and 22, authorities implemented traffic redirection and road closures in the city center for the parade rehearsals.
Despite prior guidance and planning, many residents were still confused about the changes.
In some cases, temporary traffic congestion occurred when drivers, upon encountering restricted roads, had to turn around, creating traffic conflicts.
Only residents returning to homes or hotels within the restricted areas are allowed to walk through.
Employees with urgent work commitments are permitted to travel directly via approved routes, provided they can show proof.
As a result, residents are advised to walk or use public transit to avoid complications when returning home.
Those who qualify for access should carry identification documents, such as ID cards or passports, and may contact the local ward police for assistance in entering the restricted areas.
According to the Ho Chi Minh City traffic police, authorities have isolated certain roads in the city center.
Motorbikes should be avoided, especially by those intending to watch the events. Instead, metro and other public transport options are recommended.
Parking will also be limited, so using buses and metro services is strongly encouraged.
Streets within the restricted zones include: Le Duan, Nguyen Van Chiem, Le Quy Don, Huyen Tran Cong Chua, Le Van Huu, Han Thuyen, Alexandre De Rhodes, Cong xa Paris, Dang Tran Con, Thu Khoa Huan, Nguyen Trung Truc, and Dong Khoi.
Traffic police officers will be stationed around the areas to assist and direct flow as needed.
In preparation for the military parade celebrating the 50th anniversary of national reunification on April 30 morning, additional rehearsals will take place on April 25 and April 27.
