In Vietnam, 4 turn dollar millionaires in Vietlott’s October bonanza

The largest prize was worth nearly VND200 billion (US$7.7 million), while the latest winner took home more than VND31.4 billion ($1.2 million).

Vietnam Computerized Lottery Company (Vietlott) on Thursday awarded a jackpot prize worth over VND31.4 billion to a man from Hai Phong City, located in northern Vietnam.

He began buying Vietlott tickets about six months ago, he said.

His regular choices include Mega 6/45, Power 6/55 and the fast-draw Lotto 5/35.

The winning combination consisted of numbers he considered lucky and had continued to use across multiple draws, he shared.

This was not his first win with Vietlott.

He had previously won the first prize in the same lottery game, valued at VND10 million ($387).

Two Vietlott players of one province win big

Also in October, An Giang Province in southern Vietnam recorded two major Vietlott jackpot wins, with combined prizes approaching VND400 billion ($15.4 million), or nearly VND200 billion ($7.7 million) each.

On the evening of October 24, Vietlott announced that a player had won the Power 6/55 Jackpot 1 prize worth VND199,984,640,250.

Meanwhile, on October 12, the operator held an award ceremony for V.N., a female customer from the province, who won a Mega 6/45 jackpot worth nearly VND200 billion on October 4.

The prize was the largest Mega 6/45 jackpot awarded in the product's 10-year history.

N. also became the biggest female lottery winner in Vietlott's history.

Speaking to Tuoi Tre (Youth) online newspaper after receiving the prize, she said she was still trembling with excitement and felt as though she were dreaming.

She recalled that she had been having dinner with her husband when a notification arrived on her phone.

"When I learned that I had won nearly VND200 billion, I was shaking and could hardly believe my eyes," she said.

She said she usually bought lottery tickets when jackpot prizes climbed to high levels, simply to try her luck.

Separately, a player won the Mega 6/45 jackpot worth nearly VND31.3 billion ($1.2 million), Vietlott announced on the evening of October 21.
