Authorities coordinated with the Nghe An Military Command’s engineering unit and the Tuong Duong defense command to retrieve and destroy the bomb.
Experts identified the ordnance as an MK-82 general-purpose bomb, measuring 1.4 meters long and 30 centimeters in diameter, weighing approximately 250 kilograms, and still containing an active fuse.
The bomb was a remnant of wartime activity.
Military sappers successfully transported the device to the commune’s Thach Duong Village, where it was safely detonated without any injuries or property damage.
