Several expressways and roads, as well as large-scale interchange projects will get off the ground on the same day, according to a plan, recently issued by the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee.
Among them are Ho Tram-Long Thanh International Airport Urban Expressway and the Binh Tien bridge and road project, which extends from Pham Van Chi Street to Nguyen Van Linh Boulevard.
The first phase of the Ho Chi Minh City-Moc Bai Expressway project is also included in the groundbreaking list on July 1.
In addition, work will start on an interchange connecting Ben Luc - Long Thanh Expressway with Rung Sac Road, and another intersection linking the expressway with National Highway 50.
The city also plans to break ground on the first phase of the Cai Mep Ha general and container port project on this occasion.
The official groundbreaking ceremony will be held on the morning of July 1 and broadcast live.
The main venue will be located at Nha Rong (Dragon) Wharf - Khanh Hoi area in downtown Ho Chi Minh City.
Social housing projects underway
The southern metropolis has begun construction of several social housing developments throughout June to increase the supply of affordable homes.
The Dong Thanh social housing apartment project in Tan Dong Hiep Ward got off the ground on June 19.
Construction also began on June 22 for the social housing component of the Hoang Nam Uyen Hung 2 commercial residential project.
Meanwhile, the Dinh Hoa social housing projects in Chanh Hiep Ward and An Phu Ward got off the ground on Friday.
