Schools including Nguyen Van Huong Elementary School in Phu Thuan Ward, Huynh Tan Phat Middle School in Tan Thuan Ward, and Tan Quy Elementary School in Tan Hung Ward said they had temporarily halted their boarding meal programs while awaiting official conclusions from authorities on food safety linked to An Phuoc Thang SG Trading Co Ltd, a catering provider named in recent press reports.

In notices sent to parents late on Wednesday, Nguyen Van Huong Elementary School said it would stop providing lunches from Thursday until competent authorities issue formal findings, asking parents to arrange midday pick-ups or prepare meals themselves, subject to food safety commitments.

Huynh Tan Phat Middle School said it had suspended its catering contract as a precaution, citing student health and safety as its top priority, while Tan Quy Elementary School said it halted lunch services pending the outcome of an investigation by police.

A leader of the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Education and Training said the department had instructed relevant units to immediately verify the reports and review school meal management to ensure student safety and tighten oversight of catering services.
