The event, themed ‘Toc Xanh Vat Ao’ (Grace of Youth in Traditional Outfits), part of the Youth Fest 2026 organized by the Youth Union of Ho Chi Minh City, drew large crowds and highlighted a growing enthusiasm among young people for traditional culture.
The parade began at Turtle Lake and proceeded along Vo Van Tan and Pasteur Streets before concluding at the park near Phan Dinh Phung Stadium in downtown Ho Chi Minh City.
Along the route, a continuous stream of participants in traditional outfits formed a moving tapestry of colors and textures.

Various ancient-style Vietnamese costumes such as ao tac (a variant of ao dai with loose and large sleeves), ao nhat binh (square-collared garb), and ao giao linh (four-long-flap dress with a cross neck), each reflecting different periods and cultural influences, were prominently featured.
More than a simple parade, the event served as a platform to promote appreciation for traditional Vietnamese clothing and the broader cultural values they represent.
Many participating young people expressed a deeper connection to the nation’s heritage.
Now in its sixth year, ‘Toc Xanh Vat Ao’ has become a familiar gathering for communities passionate about ancient-style Vietnamese outfits.
