According to the provincial police department, officers from Bai Chay Ward received an urgent report at around 7:05 pm from local residents who noticed a woman showing signs of psychological distress while holding a very young child and heading toward the bridge with apparent suicidal intent.

Recognizing the immediate danger to human life, Bai Chay Ward police quickly dispatched a task force to verify the situation and take action.

The officers moved rapidly to the scene to prevent any irreversible consequences.

After checking the area, police located the woman walking along the motorcycle lane near access ramp No. 5 of the bridge.

She was carrying a very small baby in a front carrier, heightening the urgency of the situation.

Officers immediately approached the woman and began calmly engaging her in conversation.

Using patience and empathy, they worked to stabilize her emotions, reassure her, and gradually persuade her to move away from the dangerous area of the bridge.

Initial information gathered by police identified the woman as H.T.N.N., a 31-year-old resident of the province’s Quang Hanh Ward.

She later told officers that she had been overwhelmed by serious family difficulties, emotional pain, and mental exhaustion.

In a moment of despair, she had considered ending her life by jumping from the bridge while holding her child.

The police task force continued to encourage and counsel her, emphasizing the value of life and the severe consequences such an action would have on her child and family.

At the same time, police quickly contacted the woman’s relatives to coordinate further support and ensure a safe resolution.

By around 7:40 pm the same evening, the woman was calm and cooperative.

The ward police completed the necessary procedures and formally handed her and her baby over to family members, who took them home for care and monitoring.
