Two fourth-grade students from Ca Mau Province, southern Vietnam spotted a bundle of cash worth VND20 million (US$760) on a local street and quickly brought it to a police station last weekend.

Police in the province's An Xuyen Ward said on Tuesday that the money was later returned to its rightful owner.

The students were identified as Ho Tinh Tue and Le Tran Thanh Nhan, both in Class 4A at Nguyen Tao Elementary School in An Xuyen Ward.

While they were walking along Cao Lo Street in the ward, the two boys discovered a bundle of cash lying on the road on Sunday.

The students immediately handed it over to police and asked officers to help locate the owner.

After receiving the money, police launched a verification process and issued a public notice to seek for the owner.

Officers later determined that the cash belonged to Tran Dinh Van, 43, a resident of Tan Thanh Ward.

Police completed the necessary procedures and returned the full amount to Van.
