The central provinces from southern Quang Tri to Khanh Hoa may experience widespread heavy rainfall during this period.
Large rain events are also expected across the Central Highlands and southern Vietnam throughout November.
Total rainfall from southern Quang Tri to Lam Dong could be 30-60 percent higher than the long-term average, while most other regions may see precipitation 10-30 percent above normal.
In contrast, northern Vietnam and the areas from Thanh Hoa to northern Quang Tri are likely to record rainfall 10-30 percent lower than average.
The national weather agency also warned of continuing thunderstorms, whirlwinds, lightning, hail, and strong gusts nationwide, along with increasing frequency and intensity of cold surges.
Average temperatures across northeast Vietnam, Thanh Hoa to Da Nang City, and eastern Quang Ngai Province are expected to be 0.5-1 degree Celsius lower than usual, while other areas may average around 0.5 degrees Celsius below the normal range.
Northern Vietnam is expected to end its damp spell by Thursday when skies turn sunny and dry.
Another strong cold front is forecast to arrive on Sunday, bringing the coldest spell of the season so far, with night-time lows below 17 degrees Celsius in the lowlands and under 16 degrees in the northern mountains. Daytime highs could remain below 22 degrees Celsius.
Meanwhile, storm Fung Wong, the 14th to hit the East Vietnam Sea this year, continues to weaken over the northeastern part of the region.
At 7:00 am on Wednesday, the storm had winds of 62-88 kph, gusting to 103-117 kph, and was moving northeast at 10-15 kph toward Taiwan.
It is expected to dissipate into a tropical depression and then a low-pressure area over the waters east of Taiwan by Thursday, producing winds of 50-61 kph and gusts of 75-88 kph.
Ships in the northeastern waters of the northern East Vietnam Sea are warned of winds of 75-88 kph, gusts up to 117 kph, and waves reaching five to seven meters, creating very rough sea conditions.
