Colonel Nguyen Thanh Nhon, head of central Vietnam’s Drug and Crime Prevention Task Force, confirmed that his unit coordinated with other forces to arrest the pair.

At around 2:30 pm on Tuesday, officers from the task force spotted two suspects riding a Honda Vario motorbike without a license plate, suspected of carrying drugs from Lao Bao Commune along National Highway 9 toward Dong Ha Ward, both located in Quang Tri.

By 3:20 pm, at a National Highway 9 section in Cam Lo Commune, the suspects were stopped.

A search of the vehicle uncovered a brown paper package containing roughly 12,000 pink tablets, believed to be methamphetamine.

During questioning, the teenagers admitted the pills were drugs and said they were illegally transporting them from the border area into Vietnam.

Authorities examined the scene and made records of the arrests, charging both suspects with illegally transporting narcotic substances.

The case remains under investigation.
