According to Da Nang International Airport, Chu Lai Airport, airport operators, and airlines, Da Nang welcomed more than 1,900 domestic and international flights over the six fireworks periods, including the day before each fireworks night, an increase of about seven percent compared with the 2025 festival.
The city handled an average of 163 flights per day, up by 11 daily flights year on year.
On July 10 and 11, Da Nang welcomed 365 inbound flights, up eight percent from the same period last year, equivalent to an average of 183 flights per day.
The Department of Culture, Sports, and Tourism said the strong growth in accommodation and aviation figures reflected DIFF's increasing appeal to both domestic and international visitors, contributing to tourism growth during the summer peak season.
The Da Nang International Fireworks Festival was first held in 2008. Since 2017, the event has been jointly organized by the Da Nang People's Committee and Sun Group as a month-long festival featuring fireworks teams from around the world.
At the DIFF 2026 final on Saturday, Portugal’s Macedos Pirotecnia team claimed the championship, defeating defending champion Jiangxi Yangfeng Art Display Co. Ltd. from China.
The DIFF 2026, themed ‘Da Nang - United Horizons,’ drew the participation of 10 teams representing Vietnam, China, Italy, Germany, Portugal, France, Japan, Macau, and Australia.
