The department announced that DIFF 2026 generated the highest tourism revenue and visitor numbers in the festival's nearly-two-decade history.

On the six days when fireworks performances were held, including the five qualifying nights and the final, visitor stays reached approximately 688,500.

The festival's grand finale on July 11 saw hotel occupancy rates in Hai Chau, Son Tra, Ngu Hanh Son, as well as the Hoa Cuong and An Hai areas, reach 95-98 percent, the highest level recorded during the past four editions of DIFF since 2023.

Accommodation providers served around 131,000 visitors on July 11 alone, up 16 percent year on year.

International visitor stays totaled 52,400, up 27 percent, while domestic visitor stays reached 78,600, an increase of nearly 10 percent.

Average hotel occupancy across the city stood at about 85 percent.

Four- and five-star hotels recorded occupancy rates of 80-85 percent, while many beachfront hotels along Vo Nguyen Giap Street and properties near the fireworks viewing stands were between 95 and 100 percent occupied.

Three-star hotels and lower-rated accommodation recorded occupancy rates of 85-90 percent, with hotels in the city center, along the beachfront, and near the Han River exceeding 95 percent.

According to Da Nang International Airport, Chu Lai Airport, airport operators, and airlines, Da Nang welcomed more than 1,900 domestic and international flights over the six fireworks periods, including the day before each fireworks night, an increase of about seven percent compared with the 2025 festival.

The city handled an average of 163 flights per day, up by 11 daily flights year on year.

On July 10 and 11, Da Nang welcomed 365 inbound flights, up eight percent from the same period last year, equivalent to an average of 183 flights per day.

The Department of Culture, Sports, and Tourism said the strong growth in accommodation and aviation figures reflected DIFF's increasing appeal to both domestic and international visitors, contributing to tourism growth during the summer peak season.

The Da Nang International Fireworks Festival was first held in 2008. Since 2017, the event has been jointly organized by the Da Nang People's Committee and Sun Group as a month-long festival featuring fireworks teams from around the world.

At the DIFF 2026 final on Saturday, Portugal’s Macedos Pirotecnia team claimed the championship, defeating defending champion Jiangxi Yangfeng Art Display Co. Ltd. from China.

The DIFF 2026, themed ‘Da Nang - United Horizons,’ drew the participation of 10 teams representing Vietnam, China, Italy, Germany, Portugal, France, Japan, Macau, and Australia.
