The delegation visited several major attractions including Sun World Ba Na Hills, the Da Nang Museum, Ngu Hanh Son (Marble) Mountains, popular resorts, and Da Nang’s vibrant nightlife areas from Sunday through Friday.
The department also held a meeting with the delegation to discuss tourism cooperation and potential partnerships.
Following its merger with neighboring Quang Nam from July 1 this year, Da Nang now boasts nearly 217 kilometers of coastline and several UNESCO World Heritage sites such as Hoi An Ancient Town, My Son Sanctuary, and the Marble Mountains inscription site.
Between January and October this year, Da Nang’s accommodations recorded over 15.4 million visitors, up more than 20 percent year on year.
Of these, international tourists accounted for about 6.3 million, up 25 percent, while domestic travelers reached 9.1 million, an increase of 16 percent.
Taiwanese visitors made up the second-largest share of international arrivals, representing 7.45 percent of total foreign tourists to the coastal city.
Da Nang currently hosts two regular flight routes from Taipei and Kaohsiung, with 29 weekly flights operated by EVA Air, Starlux Airlines, China Airlines, and Tiger Taiwan.
In addition, two domestic carriers Vietjet Air and Bamboo Airways operate two to three weekly charter flights from Taipei and Taichung.
