Earlier, 75-year-old V.T.H., also from Phu Tuc Commune, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The accident occurred at about 5:40 am when the van, operated by Hung Phuong transport company and driven by 54-year-old Tran Van Hau, was traveling from Phu Yen toward Gia Lai.

The vehicle overturned on a curved section of the highway in Uar Commune.

At the time, seven people were on board, including five passengers, the driver, and an assistant.

Three passengers with severe injuries were transferred to Phu Yen General Hospital and Gia Lai General Hospital for further treatment.

Another passenger, 41-year-old Nay Bong from Ia Rsai Commune, suffered minor injuries and was discharged after initial care.

Authorities said the preliminary cause was the driver’s failure to control speed while navigating a curve.
