-- A French tourist has received widespread praise on Facebook and TikTok after photos of him carrying a Vietnamese veteran to the Lung Cu Flag Tower in Tuyen Quang Province, northern Vietnam, went viral on social media.

Economy

-- The Ho Chi Minh City Tax Department collected nearly VND466.9 trillion (US$17.8 billion) in tax revenue in January-July 2026, equivalent to 74.5 percent of the government-assigned estimate and 58.4 percent of the city’s VND1 quadrillion ($38.2 billion) state budget revenue target for 2026, said Doan Minh Dung, head of the municipal Tax Department.

-- McDonald’s Vietnam has officially announced the return of its pho-flavored burger, dubbed “burger vị phở Mác Đô-nan chính hiệu,” marking the first time a global brand like McDonald’s has Vietnamized its brand name on a special product.
