Which Vietnamese destinations European travelers search for most this summer?

Ho Chi Minh City, Da Nang, and Nha Trang have emerged as the three most searched destinations in Vietnam among European travelers for summer 2026, according to digital travel platform Agoda.

The trend reflects the country's more open visa policies, an expanding international flight network, and increasingly diverse tourism offerings.

The findings come from Agoda's latest ranking of European travelers' interest in Asian destinations for the 2026 summer travel season. The ranking is based on accommodation searches made on the platform between April and June 2026 for trips scheduled in July and August.

Vietnam climbed one place from the same period last year to become the fourth most searched destination in Asia among European travelers this summer.

The country also ranked among the three fastest-growing Asian destinations in terms of search interest from Europe.

Among the top 20 destinations, India recorded the strongest year-on-year growth in searches at 14 percent, followed by South Korea at 13 percent and Vietnam at 12 percent.

The strong performance of the three countries reflects European travelers' growing preference for more diverse travel experiences beyond Asia's traditional tourist destinations.

Within Vietnam, Da Nang and Ho Chi Minh City remained the two most searched destinations by European travelers for the second consecutive year.

Nha Trang climbed to third place, replacing Hanoi in the top three.

Ho Chi Minh City continued to attract visitors seeking vibrant urban experiences, cultural attractions, and diverse culinary offerings.

Vietnam welcomed 13.9 million international visitors during the January-July period of 2026, up 13.8 percent year on year, according to the Vietnam National Authority of Tourism.

Arrivals from Europe surged 53.4 percent to more than 2.35 million.

Russia remained Vietnam's largest European source market with 864,000 visitors, up 174 percent year on year.

Other European markets also posted strong growth, including Poland with 51.3 percent, the Czech Republic with 28.6 percent, Sweden with 24.7 percent, and Switzerland with 21.7 percent.

In terms of searches, Germany overtook France to become the largest source of accommodation searches for Vietnam. The United Kingdom ranked third, followed by the Netherlands and Russia.

Vietnam also recorded strong growth in search interest from several emerging European markets.

Azerbaijan posted the highest increase in accommodation searches at 177 percent year on year, followed by Poland at 66 percent and Sweden at 55 percent. 

All three countries are covered by Vietnam's visa exemption policy, highlighting the positive impact of easier entry procedures on attracting international visitors.

Combined with an expanding international air network and a growing range of tourism products, Vietnam's more favorable visa policies are helping strengthen the country's appeal and encouraging more travelers from across Europe to choose Vietnamese cities for longer holidays.
