-- Vietnamese Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh met Sergey Shoigu, secretary of the Security Council of the Russian Federation, in Moscow on Tuesday during his official visit to the country.
-- The European Union and Vietnam will invest more than €560 million (US$650.7 million) in sustainable transport and clean energy to support jobs, economic growth, and pollution reduction under the EU Global Gateway strategy, Jozef Síkela, European commissioner for international partnerships, said at the EU-Vietnam Global Gateway Business and Investment Forum in Hanoi on Tuesday.

-- Police in Hanoi said seven people escaped safely and were in stable condition after a fire broke out on Tuesday afternoon in a six-level house in Hoang Mai Ward, as two occupants were rescued via an emergency rooftop exit.
-- The People’s Committee of Lao Cai Province has approved the conversion of the Bat Xat Nature Reserve into Bat Xat National Park, making it Vietnam’s 36th national park.
-- The Drug Administration of Vietnam on Tuesday ordered a nationwide recall and suspension of Nivea Extra Bright Night Nourish, marketed by Beiersdorf Vietnam, after tests showed it contained 0.1 percent propylparaben not listed in its approved formula.
-- At least 17 people in Quang Ngai Province, south-central Vietnam were hospitalized on Tuesday with symptoms including abdominal pain and vomiting after eating ‘banh mi’ (Vietnamese sandwich), in a suspected food poisoning incident.
Economy
-- From 11:00 pm Tuesday, the Vietnamese Ministry of Industry and Trade and Ministry of Finance raised retail fuel prices, with RON 95-III gasoline increasing by VND3,150 ($0.12) to VND33,840 ($1.28) per liter.
Ho Chi Minh City
-- The People’s Committee of Ho Chi Minh City has approved a project to build the Rach Tra tidal sluice gate with a total investment of more than VND1.23 trillion ($46.6 million) and completion due in 2029.
-- The Ho Chi Minh City Center for Disease Control reported that from March 9 to 15 the city recorded 837 cases of hand, foot, and mouth disease, up 97.1 percent from the previous four-week average of 424 and exceeding the alert threshold, with two deaths reported.
-- Renovations began at Thong Nhat Stadium in Ho Chi Minh City on Tuesday with a total investment of nearly VND320 billion ($12.14 million).
