-- Vietnamese State President Luong Cuong arrived in Beijing on Tuesday with a high-level delegation for a three-day visit to attend a ceremony marking the 80th anniversary of the global victory over fascism and hold bilateral meetings.
-- High-ranking delegations from Laos and Cambodia visited a national achievements exhibition in Hanoi on Tuesday during their trip to attend Vietnam’s celebrations marking the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution’s success (August 19) and National Day (September 2).
The Lao delegation was led by Party General Secretary and President Thongloun Sisoulith. The Cambodian delegation was headed by Cambodian People’s Party leader and Senate President Hun Sen.

-- Up to three storms or tropical depressions may form over the East Vietnam Sea in September, with at least one possibly affecting mainland Vietnam, the national weather agency said on Tuesday.
-- Moderate to heavy rain is forecast in Ho Chi Minh City over the next two to three days, with rainfall totals expected to reach 100-150 mm, and higher in some areas, the Southern Hydrometeorological Center said. Low-lying urban and industrial zones may face flooding, it added.
-- The Hanoi Urban Environment Company collected about 1,650 tonnes of waste on Tuesday during National Day celebrations, approximately 410 tonnes more than the daily average, the company said.
-- Vietnam’s Ministry of Construction has ordered an inspection of the Vinh Tuy Bridge after a fire at a parking lot beneath it cracked the concrete and exposed steel reinforcement, the ministry said.
-- Police in Dong Nai Province cleared a landslide-hit area on National Highway 14C on Tuesday afternoon after the blockage caused several hours of traffic congestion, local authorities said.

-- Khanh Hoa Province received more than 907,000 visitors during the four-day National Day holiday, up 10 percent from the same period last year, the provincial tourism department said on Tuesday.
-- Da Nang recorded more than 620,000 tourist visits during the four-day National Day holiday, up 24 percent from the same period in 2024, the city’s tourism department said on Tuesday.
