The Da Nang People’s Committee on Wednesday said the penalty followed inspections by local police and environmental authorities, which found the company operating without a required environmental permit and breaching several waste management and food safety rules.

Inspectors said The Pearl Hoi An, a hospitality facility operated by Tri Viet Hoi An JSC in Hoi An Tay Ward, lacked an environmental license, failed to properly collect and store hazardous waste, and did not submit mandatory environmental protection reports.

The company was also cited for food safety violations, including improper hygiene practices by food handlers, inadequate separation between raw and cooked food areas, and failures to comply with required food inspection and sample retention procedures.

The violations resulted in total fines of VND389 million.

As part of the penalty, officials ordered a suspension of operations related to unlicensed waste-generating activities at the facility for four months and 15 days and required the company to implement measures to address environmental pollution.
