Da Nang plans $7.2mn cultural park along Han river

The proposed development would cover approximately 21,900 square meters at a site on Nhu Nguyet Street in Hai Chau Ward, adjacent to Da Nang Software Park No. 2 and the approach road to Thuan Phuoc Bridge.

The planned facilities include a cultural landmark, a public square, a shrine, rest pavilions, landscaped gardens, green spaces, lighting systems and technical infrastructure.

Green areas are expected to cover 14,869 square meters, while walking paths and paved landscape areas would occupy around 4,600 square meters.

The architectural centerpiece would be a symbolic structure built on a circular base, incorporating a moon-shaped relief and an image of a bronze drum.

The municipal Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism said the cultural park project is intended to create a new public space, highlight the area’s historical and cultural heritage, and improve the urban landscape along Nhu Nguyet Street and around Da Nang Software Park No. 2.

At the meeting, Nguyen Thi Anh Thi, vice-chairwoman of the Da Nang administration, asked the department to incorporate feedback from participating agencies and organizations and complete the project proposal in accordance with regulations.

The department was also told to collect opinions from relevant agencies before November 8 and submit a summary of their feedback to the Department of Finance before November 15 for further review and recommendations to the municipal administration.
