Great Wealth is currently relocating technical infrastructure to make room for the project which is estimated to cost more than VND88.25 billion (US$3.4 million).
Under the investment and financing arrangements, Great Wealth is sponsoring the entire construction, management and operating cost under a public-private partnership model in the form of a build-transfer contract, without payment from the city.

A company representative told Tuoi Tre (Youth) online newspaper on Thursday morning that the two pedestrian overpasses, together with the renovation of Ba Son piers B and C, would directly connect to the pedestrian bridge across the Saigon River and the riverside area.
Without the pedestrian overpasses across the major thoroughfare, residents and visitors wishing to reach the riverfront would have to cross Ton Duc Thang Street.
This would not only be inconvenient but also pose potential traffic safety risks and cause congestion, particularly once the pedestrian bridge across the Saigon River opens and attracts large numbers of visitors.

Once completed, the project will provide residents and visitors with more convenient and safer access to the riverside area, while expanding public spaces and sightseeing spots in the city center.
"Our decision to support and sponsor the project stems from our desire to contribute to the city's overall development and deliver practical benefits to its residents," the company representative said.
Regarding progress, the company said renovation work on Ba Son piers B and C was largely complete, while construction of the two pedestrian overpasses across Ton Duc Thang Street was underway.

The company aims to complete the entire project and open it to residents and visitors before the 2027 Lunar New Year.
Notably, Great Wealth has selected Chodai & Kiso-Jiban Vietnam as the design consultant for the project.
Chodai & Kiso-Jiban Vietnam also designed the pedestrian bridge across the Saigon River, whose architecture is inspired by the shape of a nipa palm leaf.

The pedestrian bridge across the Saigon River in Ho Chi Minh City, with nearly VND1 trillion (US$38.5 million) in funding from Nutifood, is being built by Dai Dung Group, which is responsible for installing the main steel arch span inspired by a nipa palm leaf. The bridge is scheduled to open to the public on the 23rd day of the 12th lunar month, or January 30, 2027.
