From immersive displays using AI and AR technology to large-scale showcases of the nation’s progress across all fields, the events promise to be highlights of this year’s holiday celebrations.

AI, AR bring historical moments to life

More than 300 photos, documents, and artifacts are on display at the exhibition 'Giu Tron Loi The Doc Lap' (Fulfilling the Oath of Independence) at the Vietnam Military History Museum in Hanoi.

The event is held to mark the 80th anniversary of Vietnam's August Revolution (August 19) and National Day (September 2).

The exhibition, open to the public on Tuesday, is divided into three sections, featuring 'autumn of independence,' 'fulfilling the oath,' and 'Vietnam’s glory.'

It presents an overview of Vietnam’s history from the French colonial invasion to the victory of the August Revolution in 1945 and President Ho Chi Minh’s reading of the Vietnamese Declaration of Independence.

It also shows the hard-fought wars for national liberation and border defense, the fulfillment of noble international duties, and the safeguard of Vietnam’s independence, sovereignty, unity, and territorial integrity.

In addition, it highlights the country’s major achievements in politics, culture, economy, and society.

The Vietnam People’s Army remains a core force in building an all-people national defense, firmly protecting the country, joining United Nations peacekeeping operations, and contributing to enhancing Vietnam’s position and reputation on the international stage.

A highlight of the exhibition is the use of augmented reality (AR) and artificial intelligence (AI) to vividly recreate history while offering high interactivity to visitors during their experience.

With sound and lighting effects combined with AR and AI technology, historical photos and footage are brought to life, giving visitors the feeling of being part of those very moments in history.

'80 Years of Independence – Freedom – Happiness'

Another highlight of this occasion in Hanoi is the National Achievements Exhibition marking the 80th National Day.

Themed '80 Years of Independence – Freedom – Happiness,' the exhibition will be open free of charge from 9:00 am to 10:00 pm between August 28 and September 5 at the Vietnam National Exhibition Center on Truong Sa Street, Dong Anh Commune.

The nine-day exhibition will showcase the country’s outstanding achievements in various fields, including industry and technology, investment and trade, agriculture and rural development, national defense and security, foreign affairs, healthcare, education, culture, sports, and tourism.

The displays will spotlight Vietnam's culture, land, and people, its 4,000-year cultural tradition, the cultural diversity of its 54 ethnic groups, the richness of natural resources, specialties from all three regions, as well as remarkable architectural works from past to present across the country.

The exhibition will also feature traditional art performances, film screenings, conferences, seminars, and exchanges with artists and prominent figures in various fields.

To serve the public and visitors to the event, 20 bus routes will be enhanced to carry passengers from six directions – including downtown Hanoi, the east, west, south, north of the city, and Noi Bai International Airport – to the National Exhibition Center, with about 70 buses making nearly 900 trips a day.

The additional buses will display a sign reading 'Vietnam Exhibition Center' on the front for easy identification.

Ha Van Sieu, deputy head of the Vietnam National Authority of Tourism, said the agency has requested tour operators to develop tour programs, introduce and promote them to draw the public to the exhibition.

The Vietnam National Authority of Tourism will publicize and introduce these tours to a wide audience at home and abroad.

Ahead of the exhibition, two notable events, including the 'Wonder Co Loa' music program on August 23 and the 'Viet Nam Toi Do' (This Is My Vietnam) on August 24, will add opportunities for tour operators to develop sports tourism, traditional culture, and outdoor experiences.
