The operator said on Saturday the system, which uses electronic identification, authentication, and biometric recognition, has been installed at all ticket gates on both lines.

The system, carried out in accordance with a plan issued in July 2025, was first introduced on the Cat Linh–Ha Dong line and expanded to the Nhon–Hanoi Railway Station line.

Hanoi Metro said 85 percent of passengers are using electronic identification and biometric verification through the system.

Revenue on the two lines rose 48 percent and ridership increased 15 percent compared with the same period.

Chief executive of Hanoi Metro Le Bang An said the system offers multiple cashless payment options, reduces waiting times, and allows passengers to track transaction histories.

He said biometric authentication helps enhance data security, reduce fraud, and support automatic fare discounts for eligible passengers.

Hanoi Metro plans to expand the system, standardize technical infrastructure for future lines, and integrate ticketing with the national railway network.

During a visit to the Nhon–Hanoi Railway Station line, Deputy Minister of Construction Nguyen Danh Huy said the system improves management and provides a more convenient experience for passengers.
