In the directive signed by deputy director of the department Tran Huu Bao, all relevant authorities, ward- and commune-level urban infrastructure project management boards, investors, and contractors were instructed to accelerate ongoing works and ensure that all construction sites are cleared and restored by August 10.
This suspension excludes urgent repairs and key projects approved by the Hanoi People’s Committee and the municipal Department of Construction.
The decision is aimed at ensuring public safety, cleanliness and urban aesthetics, minimizing disruptions to traffic, and facilitating movement for residents and tourists during the holiday.
Police and the inspectorate were asked to step up enforcement efforts, monitor compliance, and penalize any violations of the directive.
As part of the celebrations, fireworks displays have been scheduled.
On the night of August 10 at 10:00 pm, a pyrotechnic show featuring 300 high-altitude shells and 60 low-level firework arrays will light up the skies over the F1 racetrack area in Tu Liem Ward.
The eight-minute display is meant to foster a sense of patriotic pride and unity among residents.
The city will also display fireworks at five major locations on the night of September 2, including Hoan Kiem Lake, Thong Nhat Park, Van Quan Lake, My Dinh National Stadium, and West Lake.
The event commences at 6:30 am on September 2 at Ba Dinh Square and various central streets in Hanoi.

– 6:45 am: Flag-raising ceremony
– 6:50 am: Opening remarks and guest introduction
– 7:05 am: Address by Party and state leaders
