A video circulating on social media earlier the same day showed a car traveling in the wrong direction in a lane reserved for cars on Vo Chi Cong Street in Tay Ho Ward.

The incident occurred during light rain, when slippery road conditions posed a serious danger to other vehicles, traffic police said.

The driver, identified as V.T.O., 37, from Dong Da Ward, admitted to driving against traffic on Sunday afternoon.

Police issued the penalties, including a VND19-million fine and a deduction of four points from her 12-point driver's license, for her "driving in the opposite direction on a road with a no-entry sign."
