On Monday, eastern Ho Chi Minh City will possibly receive less rain, while the city center and northern areas could see showers and localized downpours in the late afternoon and evening.
In the southeastern region, rain is forecast to develop in the late afternoon and evening and could continue overnight, with Dong Nai City among the areas expected to receive heavy rain.
Other localities in the southwestern part, or the Mekong Delta, may see scattered showers during the afternoon and evening.
The regional weather agency warned that heavy rain could affect Ho Chi Minh City during the evening commute on Tuesday, potentially disrupting travel.
On Tuesday, rain could begin early in the morning in the Mekong Delta, particularly in Dong Thap Province, Can Tho City, and Vinh Long Province.
Other localities are expected to experience rain mainly in the afternoon and evening, with Dong Nai and the Central Highlands province of Lam Dong among the areas at risk of heavy downpours.
Rainfall is predicted to gradually ease around Wednesday and Thursday as a southern low-pressure trough weakens.
However, localized showers and thunderstorms may still occur.
The weather agency urged residents to remain alert for thunderstorms accompanied by whirlwinds, lightning, and strong wind gusts.
It also warned that intense rainfall over a short period could cause flooding in low-lying areas, disrupting transportation and daily activities.
