Ho Chi Minh City breaks ground on new green park

The groundbreaking ceremony was attended by senior city officials, including Le Quoc Phong, permanent deputy secretary of the municipal Party Committee, and representatives from several departments.

Singer Ha Anh Tuan, who contributed support for the project, also joined the event.

The park is being built on vacant land next to Tran Quoc Toan Middle School along Kenh Nuoc Den Street in Binh Hung Hoa Ward.

Speaking at the ceremony, Pham Thi Ngoc Dieu, deputy chairwoman of the ward’s administration, said the project will serve not only as a recreational and fitness space but also as a key step in urban renewal and environmental improvement.

She added that the park is expected to help increase green coverage across the city and support local goals of building a cleaner, greener, and more modern urban environment.

The park will include landscaped green areas, walking paths, a children’s playground, outdoor fitness facilities, lighting systems, and other supporting infrastructure.

Funding comes from donations by philanthropists and sponsors across the city.

Once completed, the park will provide a friendly public space for community activities and relaxation.

Officials underlined the adherence to technical and environmental standards during construction.

Contractors were urged to mobilize resources to ensure safety, quality, and timely completion.

Residents were also encouraged to support and facilitate the project’s progress.
