Global aviation data provider OAG has ranked Ho Chi Minh City’s Tan Son Nhat International Airport and Hanoi’s Noi Bai International Airport among the world’s 50 most internationally connected airports in its 2026 Megahubs Index.

Tan Son Nhat ranked 48th, down three places from 2025, while Noi Bai ranked 49th, up eight places, making Vietnam one of the few countries with two airports in the global top 50.

OAG calculated 8,441 possible connections at Tan Son Nhat, linking the airport with 100 destinations worldwide.

Noi Bai recorded 8,679 possible connections and served 105 destinations.

To generate the pool of potential Megahubs, OAG analyzed flight data for the 100 largest airports in the world and the 100 largest international airports, based on total scheduled seats over the 12 months to August 2026.

It then calculated the total number of possible connections between inbound and outbound flights within a six-hour window on August 2, 2026, the busiest day for global aviation during that period, with at least one of the flights being international.

London Heathrow in the UK ranked second, followed by Amsterdam Schiphol in the Netherlands, Kuala Lumpur International Airport in Malaysia and Chicago O’Hare International Airport in the United States.

Tan Son Nhat and Noi Bai also made OAG’s top 25 low-cost megahubs, which measures connectivity involving low-cost carriers.

Tan Son Nhat ranked 19th, while Noi Bai ranked 22nd.

Vietjet was the dominant low-cost carrier at both airports, accounting for 31 percent of flights at Tan Son Nhat and 30 percent at Noi Bai.

Low-cost carriers accounted for 37 percent of capacity at Tan Son Nhat and 35 percent at Noi Bai, according to OAG.
