The suspect, identified as Truong Xuan Huy, 44, a resident of Tan Son Ward, Ho Chi Minh City, was detained for investigation into robbery.
At around 1:18 pm Wednesday, a masked man wearing a long-sleeved shirt arrived by motorbike at K.H.T. Gold Shop on Nguyen Sy Sach Street in Tan Son Ward.
He used a concrete brick to smash the glass display case, grabbed 10 18-karat gold bracelets weighing about seven mace (26.25 grams), and fled the scene.
After receiving the report, Tan Son Ward police cordoned off the area and protected the scene.
The ward police then coordinated with the Criminal Police Division and Criminal Forensics Division to examine the scene and collect evidence.
Criminal police also worked with local police and other relevant units to review the area, trace the suspect's movements, and identify his characteristics and vehicle.
Police later identified Huy as the suspect based on evidence and information collected during the investigation.

At around 2:40 pm, just 82 minutes after the robbery, police found and arrested Huy on Ta Quang Buu Street in Chanh Hung Ward.
The arrest prevented the suspect from fleeing and helped police recover the stolen property.
Authorities have recovered the stolen gold and are continuing to search for the remaining property while completing the investigation and handling the case in accordance with the law.
